Nottingham Forest midfielder James Perch has penned a new contract with the club that will keep him at the City Ground until the summer of 2011.

The 23-year-old admits he is over the moon after signing the two-and-a-half year deal and is looking forward to some successful times under new boss Billy Davies.

Perch, who has captained Forest of late, told the club's official website: "I was coming towards the end of my contract and I'm delighted everything has been sorted."

He added: "I always knew Forest wanted to keep me and that I was going to stay if they offered me something. It was just a case of getting my head down and waiting for the club to make me an offer.

"Billy Davies is an ambitious man and wants to take Forest into the Premier League, and I want to be part of it. I know I've made the right decision and I couldn't be happier."
