Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins is in no rush to sign Ipswich midfielder Liam Trotter.

Trotter joined the Iron on a two-day trial and has now returned to Portman Road to leave Adkins with plenty to think about.

Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "He did all right but there is no rush to do anything."

He added: "He cannot play in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and our team for Saturday is sorted.

"Therefore, there is no immediate need to be looking to do anything.

"I do have a concern about the number of players we have in the building for a period coming up where we are going to be playing a game every three days."
