Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford will serve a three-match suspension after admitting a Football Association charge for violent conduct

Beckford scored both goals in the televised 2-0 win over promotion rivals Millwall at Elland Road on Monday to take his season's tally to 23 but was lucky not to be sent off after elbowing Millwall goalkeeper David Forde.

But after being charged, Beckford told the club's official website: "I would like to apologise to my team-mates and to the fans as I will now miss a number of games. But I have every confidence the players will continue the push up the table."

He added: "My only concern now is getting back in the team when my suspension has ended."
