Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has slammed speculation that Seyi Olofinjana is set to return on loan from Stoke.

The Nigerian international has failed to make an impact since joining Stoke for £3million last summer.

But McCarthy says he has no interest in resigning the midfielder.

"That is right off the cuff," he told the Sunday Mercury. "I have never discussed that at all. We have got our squad together."

However, one player who has been assured of his future at Molineux is Jason Shackell despite the defender being loaned out to Norwich.

"Jason needs to play," McCarthy added. "He got frustrated and this is a chance for him to get back to playing."
