Doncaster continued their great run of form with a 1-0 victory over Bristol City on what was a poor night for clubs with ambitions at the top of the Coca-Cola Championship.

Paul Heffernan's early goal gave Doncaster victory at the Keepmoat Stadium. The frontman stroked the ball home with just four minutes on the clock.

Chris Eagles scored a last-minute equaliser as Burnley drew 1-1 with Coventry to go level on points with Cardiff and Sheffield United in fifth and sixth.

Masked striker Leon Best headed home in the 44th minute to send Coventry into a shock lead, but Eagles grabbed the equaliser with less than 60 seconds of normal time remaining when he latched on to a Martin Paterson pass and lofted the ball past Sky Blues goalkeeper Keiren Westwood.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce provided a rare moment of inspiration to give Barnsley a vital 1-0 victory in the South Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough.

The Jamaica international underlined his potential with a stunning 38th-minute strike after dancing in from the wing.

Tommy Smith scored one and made another for Tamas Priskin as strugglers Watford moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over high-flying Swansea.

Crystal Palace piled more pressure on Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock after inflicting a 3-1 victory on the Pilgrims at Home Park.

Neil Danns, Alan Lee and John Oster were on target in the first half for the Eagles, with Gary Sawyer scoring Argyle's consolation.
