Barnsley manager Simon Davey thanked chairman Patrick Cryne for holding on to the Tykes` match-winner Jamal Campbell-Ryce after his side's first win at Hillsborough since 1979.

The Jamaica winger bamboozled Sheffield Wednesday's defence before slamming home a 38th-minute winner to secure the Tykes a 1-0 win and a rare league double over their local rivals.

"Yes there's interest. We turned down bids in excess of a million pounds in the window," Davey said. "That shows the ambition of the club and the ambition of Patrick Cryne to keep hold of him."
