Burnley striker Steve Thompson has set his sights on hitting the 15-goal mark after reaching double figures for the season in Saturday`s 1-1 draw at Norwich.

Thompson, a free transfer from Cardiff last summer, notched his ninth goal for the Clarets at Carrow Road to add to the solitary strike he claimed for the Bluebirds.

"For me to get to double figures is a milestone, so I can't tell you how pleasing that is," Thompson said. "Every striker goes on about double figures, so I am glad to hit that and I am striving now to get closer to 15."

He added: "I managed it a few times in Scotland, but not since I have been down in England and I just want to push on now and try to bag a few more.

"In previous seasons in the Championship I feel I have played well, but maybe under-achieved in the goal stakes."
