Crystal Palace defender Danny Butterfield has joined south London rivals Charlton on loan until the end of the season.

The Addicks moved for Butterfield after on-loan Reading full-back Graeme Murty's spell at The Valley was cut short by a a calf injury.

The 29-year-old right-back could go straight into the starting line-up against Doncaster on Tuesday night.

Butterfield has been in and out of the Palace side this season but played the full 90 minutes of their 2-0 defeat at Watford on Saturday.
