Jon Jones Profile
Jon Jones, also known as ‘Bones’ is a professional mixed martial artist from the United States of America. His career started over a decade ago in 2008 when he beat Brad Bernard with a TKO. He joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in August 2008 and beat his opponent Andre Gusmao at UFC 87.
He has only lost once in his UFC career and the decision still remains controversial. Jones was disqualified from his fight against Matt Hamill back in December 2009.
He slowly started rising to the top and picked up his first title win in 2011. He has won UFC-record 14 title fights, and he hasn’t lost any fight since 2009 but he hasn’t been a perfect angel as he picked up two doping violations, meaning he has only fought six times in just over five years.
He has been in a bout of words with Israel Adesanya for a while now but no fight seems to be happening anytime soon between the two. UFC president Dana White spoke out recently when discussing the American’s next fight as he revealed that Jones will face the winner of the March 27 heavyweight title fight between champion Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou at UFC 260.
