Leicester City

Leicester City produced the unthinkable during the 2015/16 Premier League campaign; tipped as relegation contenders, finishing as champions. Founded in 1884 and nicknamed ‘The Foxes’, Leicester have developed into an established, top-tier side capable of competing for European places. It will take something special to win the Premier League again with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City dominating, but the Foxes fans will remain optimistic of defying the odds once more.

During that magical 2015/16 Premier League campaign, Leicester had the likes of Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante and Jamie Vardy producing moments of magic to turn that dream into a reality. Now, the Leicester squad has more balance and structure; a long-term plan to compete with the big boys and produce some excellent football along the way for the Leicester fans to get excited about.

Overall, Leicester hold a joint-record for most second tier titles, winning the division on seven occasions. The Foxes finished as runners-up in the 1928/19 First Division campaign and went one better in 2015/16 as they lifted the Premier League trophy. Leicester have won the League Cup thrice, but have failed to win the FA Cup despite featuring in four finals. The club also has won FA Community Shield to boast.

Domestically, the club has done well but there has been no success in European competitions thus far. That could soon change though, with the Foxes developing a dangerous squad capable of beating any team on it’s day. Most Leicester fans consider Nottingham Forest to be their main rivals.
