Arsenal could look to lure Youri Tielemans to the Emirates Stadium in the summer as the Leicester City star has a 'big window of opportunity', transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta looked to bolster his side's Premier League title chances by signing Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior and Jorginho during the January window, but he will be handed another opportunity to welcome reinforcements to north London in a matter of months.

Arsenal transfer news - Youri Tielemans

According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal have refused to rule out the possibility of signing Tielemans when he becomes a free agent after being reluctant to pay a transfer fee.

The report suggests the central midfielder is set to leave Leicester at the end of the season, resulting in Manchester United and Newcastle United also being in the hunt for his signature.

Tielemans entered the final six months of his King Power Stadium deal, which is worth £120,000-per-week, at the turn of the year.

But the Belgium international opted against seeking a January exit as he was keen to keep his options open by running down his contract.

Prior to the winter window slamming shut last week, respected journalist Jones told GiveMeSport that Tielemans is still on Arsenal's shortlist of targets.

What has Dean Jones said about Tielemans?

Jones believes Tielemans has a major decision to make over his future after remaining on Leicester's books.

The transfer insider has hinted that Arsenal could look to pounce when the 25-year-old walks away from his current employers during the summer.

Jones told GiveMeSport: "Ultimately, the player now has a big window of opportunity in terms of where he could land next.

"It's not impossible that Arsenal now make their move for him. Arsenal were always against paying a fee for him, knowing that he could be available for free if they could get this far."

Should Arsenal sign Tielemans in the summer?

Tielemans has not allowed the uncertainty over his long-term future to have a negative impact on his displays as, according to WhoScored, he has been Leicester's second-best performer since the Premier League campaign got underway.

The former Monaco man's 6.9 average match rating, which is only bettered by James Maddison in the Foxes' ranks, comes after racking up five goal contributions in all competitions this term.

It is clear that Tielemans is capable of being a serious threat in the final third of the pitch as, over the course of his senior club career, he has found the back of the net 69 times and registered a further 59 assists.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to hold onto the Belgian, having previously described him as 'outstanding' and 'one of Europe’s top midfielders'.

But, with Tielemans edging towards the King Power Stadium exit door after making a £40million switch in 2019, Arsenal should do all they can to tempt him to north London.
