Everton will 'keep an eye on' midfielder Amadou Onana who is seen as 'integral' at Goodison Park after he was forced off against Leeds United with an injury last weekend, journalist Ben Dinnery has informed GIVEMESPORT.

The Belgium international has been a significant player for the Toffees this campaign in their battle for Premier League survival under Sean Dyche.

Everton latest injury news - Amadou Onana

Lately, Liverpool World has reported that Everton are 'hopeful' that Onana's injury isn't too serious following his withdrawal from the pitch last Saturday in their 1-0 victory over Leeds.

The 21-year-old was taken off with a knee concern and replaced by Tom Davies in the 74th minute, though boss Dyche doesn't seem to be too worried about these latest developments.

Dyche told media in the aftermath of the fixture: “He’s had a niggly knee injury. They’ll get on top of that tomorrow [last Sunday] and Monday. I think it’s manageable as his fitness improves and game understanding improves."

The Dakar-born enforcer joined from Lille last summer for a fee in the region of £33 million and has gone on to become a fan favourite at Goodison Park.

What has Ben Dinnery said about Amadou Onana?

Journalist Dinnery has stated that Onana should be 'absolutely fine' though Everton will take all the necessary precautions to make sure he is in good ilk moving forward.

Dinnery told GMS: "So yeah, look, he's become an integral part of that, that Everton midfield alongside Idrissa Gana Gueye and even Doucoure right now as well is sort of back in the fold and has made an impression. Off the back of a couple of home wins there, I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine, but it's just something to keep an eye on and be aware of."

What are Amadou Onana's stats this season?

Onana has been one of Everton's better players in a poor campaign for the Goodison Park outfit and has featured 23 times in all competitions and registered one goal and one assist, as per Transfermarkt.

In the Premier League, the 21-year-old has been able to establish himself as an all-action midfielder in his debut season and has won 142 duels so far.

Tactically, Onana looks to be a mainstay within boss Dyche's plans, where he has been deployed at the heart of an industrious midfield three beside Idrissa Gana Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Everton will hope to see Onana return for the visit of Aston Villa this weekend, with the opportunity lying in waiting for the Toffees to make it three home wins on the bounce if they secure victory.
