Johnny Gargano

John Anthony Nicholas Gargano, better known under the ring name Johnny Gargano, is an American professional wrestler. Standing at a height of 5’10”, Gargano is currently signed to WWE performing on the NXT brand. His professional wrestling debut came back in 2005 and, since then, the American has amassed plentiful success throughout his career. 

Starting his career with the Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling promotion, Gargano went onto work for some of the best promotions on the American independent circuit. Prior to his WWE time, Gargano won several titles including the Chikara Campeonatos de Parejas, the Evolve Tag Team Championship and DGUSA's Open the Freedom Gate Championship. Despite not achieving any championships, Gargano did make appearances for both Ring of Honor and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Gargano made brief cameos for WWE early in his wrestling career, but after taking part in the tryout camp in 2015 he started to make regular appearances for NXT - signing a permanent contract with the brand in April 2016. Alongside Tommasa Ciampa, the pair formed a tag team called #DIY and went onto be crowned NXT Tag Team Champions. However, their partnership was short-lived and a rivalry was formed, forcing the duo to split and go back to independent competition. 

In January 2019, Gargano won the NXT North American Championship and the main NXT American Championship a few months later. Following that feat in April, Gargano became the first ever NXT Triple Crown Champion. 2020 was another exciting year for the American wrestler as he became NXT North American Champion once again; winning it for a record-setting second time - a record he would extend when winning it again for a third time.
