About Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne is an attacking midfielder currently playing for Manchester City in the Premier League.

De Bruyne is widely regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders in world football, having played a huge part in Manchester City’s title winning season in 2017-18 and Belgium’s third-placed finish at the 2018 World Cup.

Born in Ghent, Belgium on June 28, 1991, De Bruyne started his career with Genk. He was signed by Chelsea in 2012 for £7million. However, the midfielder struggled to get into the team and was loaned out to German outfit Werder Bremen.

De Bruyne improved hugely in the Bundesliga, scoring 10 goals in 33 games before he was signed by VFL Wolfsburg for £18million. He continued his development with his new club, scoring 10 goals and assisting 21 more in 34 games during the 2014-15 season. He was named Bundesliga Young Player of the Year that season and achieved the most assists.

The Belgian was signed by Manchester City for £58million at the start of the 2015-16 season and immediately made an impact, scoring seven goals and assisting nine more in just 25 games that season. De Bruyne has gone on to win multiple Premier League titles and other trophies at Manchester City, while he has also cemented himself as one of the top playmakers in the world.

De Bruyne helped Belgium to third place at the 2018 World Cup, providing two assists and playing an integral role in their midfield.
