Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has shut down comparisons between icon Tiger Woods and current star John Rahm.

Spiranac, who stopped pursuing a professional golf career to focus on her social media presence, is known for promoting the sport among her many followers.

She was recently called the “real deal” by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who praised the star for the brand she has created.

Spiranac is also not shy to share her opinion, and recently recorded a video explaining who she thought was the best player on the PGA Tour right now.

Spiranac named Rahm, telling her viewers that he was “on an absolute tear right now”.

The Spaniard has indeed already won three PGA Tour titles this year, but Spiranac was quick to prevent comparisons with Woods.

“Anytime someone goes on a hot streak like this, we’ve had Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, the murmurs start, is he the next Tiger Woods,” she said.

“But let's be real, we will never see someone like Tiger Woods ever again in golf.”

Spiranac continued: “But let's not discount their play or the level of talent on the PGA Tour right now because it is at an all-time high.

“So out of the guys I mentioned or any current players who do you think is going to have the best winning record?

“In my opinion it’s Jon Rahm. He is the most complete player and with his fiery personality I think he is going to be unstoppable.”

Who is Paige Spiranac?

Spiranac is the most-followed golf star on the planet, boasting 3.7 million followers on Instagram.

She has more followers on the platform than Woods, who is in second place.

While Spiranac has often been criticised for "sexualising women's golf", she has used her platform to promote body positivity and an anti-bullying campaign.

Ohanian called his fellow American the "real deal", and urged brands to work with her to "understand how to tell a story to the *next* generation of golf fans".

Spiranac made headlines recently after she backed Woods when he was slammed for handing Justin Thomas a tampon during the Genesis Invitational.

“If anyone tries to cancel Tiger over this we riot,” Spiranac wrote on Twitter. “It’s funny”

Others accused Woods of having the “sophistication of a 14-year-old schoolboy”.
