Tyson Fury

fight record and stats

Tyson Fury, known as The Gypsy King is a two-time heavyweight world champion after defeating Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder. The 6’9” giant is known for his speed and skillful ringcraft as well as his natural charisma and ability to sell a fight which has earned him praise and the Ring Magazine title. Many commentators rate this orthodox fighter one of the best active pound-for-pound boxers around.

Born on the 12th August 1988 in Wythenshawe, Manchester to Irish parents with a boxing tradition, Fury turned professional in 2008, famously not waiting for the 2012 Olympics as an amateur.

As a professional boxer Fury got his shot at the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Lineal and The Ring heavyweight titles in 2015 against Wladimir Klitschko. The fight was staged at the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany and Tyson won the fight after a 12 round decision.

Tyson later relinquished his titles but made a famous comeback to earn two title shots against Deontay Wilder, the first ending in a contravercial draw but the second was won convincingly against the odds making him a two-time champion.
