Wayne Rooney is England’s greatest ever goalscorer, who currently plays for Championship team Derby County.

Rooney started his career at Everton and announced himself on the scene with a screamer against Arsenal to end their 30-game win streak.

He ended his breakthrough season with the Toffees scoring six goals. His second season saw him bag nine and a move to Manchester United in 2004.

Rooney stayed with United for 13 years, which saw him become their all-time top scorer with 253 goals.

He has 53 goals in 120 England appearances, and captained his country on 23 occasions.

When his time at United came to an end, he returned to boyhood club Everton, where he would only stay for one season.

Rooney then took the trip across the Atlantic when he signed for DC United, where he stayed for two seasons. During his time in the US, he was awarded a place in the MLS Best XI, before opting to return to England with the Rams.

Team honours of Rooney’s include five Premier League trophies, a Champions League winner’s medal, an FA Cup, three League Cups, one Europa League and a FIFA Club World Cup.
