West Ham United star Manuel Lanzini has been ‘getting some proposals from clubs in other countries’ and could seal his London Stadium exit in the summer, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

Hammers boss David Moyes bolstered his squad with the £15million addition of Danny Ings last month, but there is likely to be further incomings and outgoings at the end of the season.

West Ham transfer news - Manuel Lanzini

According to Spanish sources, Lanzini appears destined to leave West Ham in the coming months and he is wanted by one of his former employers.

The report suggests Argentinian giants River Plate have earmarked the creative midfielder as one of their top transfer targets for the summer.

Lanzini has entered the final six months of his £70,000-per-week contract at the London Stadium, although West Ham hold an option to extend the agreement by two years.

The 29-year-old’s father has revealed that a potential move away was snubbed during the January window, but it is the family’s dream for a return to River Plate to be negotiated.

Respected journalist Jones recently told GiveMeSport that West Ham co-owner David Sullivan is a ‘big fan’ of Lanzini and sees him as a valuable member of the squad.

What has Dean Jones said about Lanzini?

Jones understands that Lanzini is wanted by numerous clubs outside of the Premier League and, as a result, proposals have been put forward.

The transfer insider feels this summer may be the perfect opportunity for West Ham, who are preparing to sell Declan Rice, and the South American to part ways.

Jones told GiveMeSport: “I know he’s getting some proposals from clubs in other countries and it’s fair to assume that they are going to be of interest to him at this stage.

“He’s got a lot to consider, but we probably are at a stage where he needs to strongly consider leaving West Ham and West Ham might be at a point where they could move him on.”

Should West Ham offload Lanzini this summer?

Lanzini has registered 58 goal contributions in 218 West Ham appearances, according to Transfermarkt, so it is clear that he has been a threat in the final third of the pitch as well as a wonderful servant.

But the acquisition of Lucas Paqueta, for a club-record fee of £51million last year, has resulted in the five-cap Argentina international’s opportunities being restricted.

Lanzini has been handed just 122 minutes of Premier League action this season, while his only start came in the opening day defeat to Manchester City.

The former Al-Jazira man’s quality has shone through in the Europa Conference League, with Sofascore statistics showing he averaged a goal every 237 minutes thanks to converting two penalties during the group stage.

But, with domestic outings coming at a premium, Lanzini’s summer departure would make sense for all parties.
